Mutual of Enumclaw works exclusively with local independent agents to offer insurance products for individuals, families, farms, and businesses. We currently operate in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Montana and Wyoming.


The Puget Sound Regional Sales Manager (RSM) at Mutual of Enumclaw is a strategic and performance-driven leader responsible for driving profitable growth through independent agency partnerships in the organization’s largest and most established territory. This role serves as a change agent and channel strategist, evolving the company’s sales philosophy and agent engagement model to meet dynamic market demands.

 

The RSM is responsible for the sustained and profitable development of both Personal and Commercial Lines business, leveraging deep product knowledge and market insights to support agency success. Reporting to the Senior Director of Sales, the RSM will lead new business development, execute agent segmentation strategies, and apply advanced field analytics and CRM capabilities. The RSM will coach, incentivize, and manage a portfolio of independent agents to optimize performance across all product lines. This role also collaborates closely with the Marketing Leadership Team and senior executives to align field strategies with enterprise objectives.

 

Location: The successful candidate will work remotely and must be located in the Puget Sound Region in WA. Candidate must be able to work our core Pacific time business hours, and have high-speed internet (internet speed test required).

 

Hiring Range: $113,867 - $140,381*

Salary Range: $113,867 - $161,333

Responsibilities

Agency Development & Support

  • Manage a portfolio of high-performing and high-potential agencies, applying segmentation and diagnostics to tailor support and growth strategies.
  • Lead agency appointments, onboarding, and performance evaluations to ensure alignment with Mutual of Enumclaw’s production and profitability standards.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to enhance agency capabilities in product knowledge, sales techniques, and system usage.

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Drive profitable growth by influencing agents to prioritize and promote Mutual of Enumclaw products.
  • Develop and execute strategic marketing plans for the territory, identifying growth opportunities and mitigating challenges.
  • Implement systematic marketing processes within agencies to attract and retain new business.
  • Identify and negotiate book transfer opportunities to optimize agency portfolios.

Consultative Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to agency principals and staff, offering insights into operational improvements, cross-selling opportunities, and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless service delivery and resolution of customer service issues.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of Mutual of Enumclaw’s and competitors’ products, pricing, and market positioning.

Performance Management & Analytics

  • Utilize CRM and field analytics to monitor agency performance, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Ensure disciplined accountability and follow-through on strategic agency plans.
  • Stay current on product updates, pricing changes, and enterprise priorities to ensure alignment with field execution.

 

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Advanced relationship management and communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in agency diagnostics, sales influence, and strategic advising.
  • Strong technical aptitude with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated resilience, integrity, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams and agency styles.

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of insurance industry or sales experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in sales, insurance, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive results through third-party relationships.

Physical Requirements:  

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, including video conferencing.
  • Meet requirements of 50% travel, after-hours, on-call, and weekend work as necessary, and perform physically active marketing activities while remaining effective.
