Mutual of Enumclaw works exclusively with local independent agents to offer insurance products for individuals, families, farms, and businesses. We currently operate in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Montana and Wyoming.


 

The Sr. Product Analyst reports to the Director of Products and is a proactive, driven, and individually accountable steward of profit and growth across assigned states and territories for all assigned lines and products.  This role will focus on collaborating to form a strategy with the state manager and leadership, and then independently identifying, recommending, and executing opportunities in alignment with said strategy.  The core focus will be on rate filings, model updates, territory management, and distribution strategies.  This role is expected to be a leader amongst peers and a core subject matter expert around our PL product offerings and processes.

 

 

Location: The successful candidate will work remotely, with preference given to those residing in the following states: WA, OR, ID, MT, WY, AZ, or UT. Candidates must be able to work during our core Pacific Standard Time (PST) business hours and have high-speed internet (an internet speed test is required).

 

Hiring Range: $90,560 - $103,357

Salary Range: $90,560 - $121,156

 

Candidates having less experience may be considered for a Product Analyst Role. Compensation and position will be commensurate with experience.

 

Hiring Range: $77,964 - $87,835

Salary Range: $77,964 - $103,002

Responsibilities

  • Independently identify, prioritize, and drive execution of profit/growth opportunities.
  • Build relationships and add value across core stakeholder departments (UW, Sales, Actuarial, IT, etc.).
  • Be the go-to expert on assigned lines, products, and execution.
  • Effectively leverage data, analytics, and available supporting resources.
  • Drive and support state rate filings execution at all stages.
  • Create influential presentations associated with day-to-day execution opportunities.

 

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Strong analytic and project management capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of the P&C insurance products and filing process.
  • Knowledge of predictive/pricing modeling methodology and actuarial principles.
  • Knowledge of Underwriting principles, methodology, and general theory.
  • Expert use of PowerPoint & Excel.
  • Knowledge of SQL, SAS, VBA, and other programming/data management strong plus.
  • Translate analysis into coherent presentations & communication.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Actuarial, Business Admin, Mathematics, or related analytic disciplines.
  • 3+ years of P&C experience in personal lines or commercial/farm product management (strong preference), actuarial, or sales/underwriting, but experience in portfolio-managed products would also be entertained.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance, actuarial principles, modeling, computer science & data manipulation.
  • Experience with modeling and predictive analytics.
  • All the following would be considered preferred and viewed favorably:
    • Graduate degree and/or related professional designations (Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance).
    • Experience with managing products and interacting with regulatory environments in the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, and Arizona.
    • Experience working with an independent agency channel distribution.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, including video conferencing.
