The Eastern Washington Regional Sales Manager will drive the evolution of Mutual of Enumclaw’s sales philosophy, independent agent strategy, and performance objectives across the organization’s largest and longest-standing sales territory. This role functions as a performance-minded change agent and channel strategist responsible for sustained and profitable revenue generation derived from independent agent producers.

 

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will lead new business development endeavors, develop agent sales growth strategies, create, and leverage field analytics and CRM capabilities, and coach, incentivize, and manage a book of third-party independent insurance agents to increase profitable growth for personal, commercial and farm line products. The RSM is an expert on Mutual of Enumclaw’s product offerings and that of competitors, with the ability to demonstrate Mutual of Enumclaw’s superior benefits. The position reports to the Senior Director of Sales and will have direct access to and input within the Marketing Leadership Team and other senior executives.

 

Location: This is a field position and will work remotely but the candidate must be located in Central or Eastern Washington.  The candidate must be able to work during our core Pacific Standard Time (PST) business hoursand have high-speed internet (internet speed test required).

 

Hiring Range: $113,867 - $140,381*

Salary Range: $113,867 - $161,333

Responsibilities

Agency Development & Support

  • Manage a portfolio of high-performing and high-potential agencies, applying segmentation and diagnostics to tailor support and growth strategies.
  • Lead agency appointments, onboarding, and performance evaluations to ensure alignment with Mutual of Enumclaw’s production and profitability standards.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to enhance agency capabilities in product knowledge, sales techniques, and system usage.

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Drive profitable growth by influencing agents to prioritize and promote Mutual of Enumclaw products.
  • Develop and execute strategic marketing plans for the territory, identifying growth opportunities and mitigating challenges.
  • Implement systematic marketing processes within agencies to attract and retain new business.
  • Identify and negotiate book transfer opportunities to optimize agency portfolios.

Consultative Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to agency principals and staff, offering insights into operational improvements, cross-selling opportunities, and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless service delivery and resolution of customer service issues.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of Mutual of Enumclaw’s and competitors’ products, pricing, and market positioning.

Performance Management & Analytics

  • Utilize CRM and field analytics to monitor agency performance, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Ensure disciplined accountability and follow-through on strategic agency plans.
  • Stay current on product updates, pricing changes, and enterprise priorities to ensure alignment with field execution.

 

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Advanced relationship management and communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in agency diagnostics, sales influence, and strategic advising.
  • Strong technical aptitude with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated resilience, integrity, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams and agency styles.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of insurance industry or sales experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in sales, insurance, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive results through third-party relationships.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, including video conferencing.
  • Meet requirements of 50% travel, after-hours, on-call, and weekend work as necessary, and perform physically active marketing activities while remaining effective.
